BB Sponsored Crossing for QCCC Fri 18th Aug

The Boys' Brigade have a number of boys taking part in the Queensferry Crossing Experience on Sunday 3rd September. They are hoping to use this once in a life time experience to raise sponsorship money for Queensferry Churches Care in the Community. There is a sponsor form at the front door if any one wishes to add their name.

Stepping Stones Local Bereavement Support Group   See: Stepping Stones - Local Bereavement Support Group   Thu 17th Aug

- Helping you at a difficult time. The next Stepping Stones Programme will run every Wednesday evening for six weeks commencing on Wednesday 30th August. You are warmly invited to come along to the Hawes Inn for 7:30 pm where you can meet with others in a similar situation. There will be an invited speaker each week who has experience in the areas listed  - Personal Experiences, Grieving Process, Health and Well Being, Money and Legal Matters, Practical Matters, Socialising and Thinking Ahead - and who will be happy to answer any questions you have. Hopefully there will be something that helps in every session. If you wish to know more or have any questions beforehand please don’t hesitate to make contact with Nara or Christine on 07849648688. Transport can be arranged if required and tea/coffee will be provided.

QPC Kitchen Thu 17th Aug

The QPC Board has been working on new kitchen hygiene procedures which will be sent out in August. As preparation for this, the kitchen has been tidied up and material which should not be stored there has been moved to the Harbour Room in the church. It will be kept there until mid August and if not claimed will be binned. Can you please check if any of the items belongs to your group and if so remove them? The only groups that have permission to store appropriate kitchen items are the Lunch Club, Mothers and Toddlers and the Dalmeny Art Group.  Thanks for your support.

Mile of Pennies for QCCC Thu 17th Aug

Queensferry Care is trying to collect a mile of pennies.  You can help by filling a bag and return it to QPC or the Haven by the end of September.  Bags are available in the vestibule.  A mile of 1ps could make over £800 for QCCC.

QPC is delighted that we are to host the Ballinger family once again for a musical evening on Tuesday 26th September, 7.30 p.m. This will be a non-ticketed event with a suggested minimum donation of £10pp to cover costs.

Good Food for Scotland Thu 17th Aug

A discussion on food and food justice on Wednesday 27th September 7.30pm at Craigsbank Church. Discussion on the connections between food insecurity, climate change, public health, biodiversity, worker’s rights, animal welfare, access to land and waste. The day before this talk the Good Food Nation Bill is launched for consultation. Food matters to us all so we will consider what we can contribute on food, in our communities and churches. IDEAL Home Energy Advice Project Thu 17th Aug

Changeworks has partnered with the University of Edinburgh to deliver IDEAL, a cutting edge research project exploring how smart technology can help save energy in the home. They are looking for households in Edinburgh and the Lothians (EH1-55) with gas combi boiler heating to participate.
The benefits include:

  • Receiving a free android tablet used to display energy use information
  • Receiving tailored advice from University of Edinburgh experts
  • Hopefully saving money on gas and electricity bills

Following the success of last year's event, the organisers are pleased to announce the return of Strictly Dundas 2017 -  It Takes Two on 29th Oct an evening of dance demonstrations and supper or the main Strictly event on the November.   Tickets are available now from QCCC or contact carol.findlay@qccc.org.uk   Money raised will be shared between Dalmeny Kirk, RNLI & QCCC

Ferry Fair parade Sat 12th Aug

The weather might have been a bit damp, but nothing can dampened the spirits, Holy or otherwise of the enthusiastic walkers in the parade this morning.. The end of Ferry Fair week always goes with a flourish, a few red roses and a smile, no matter what the weather. In QPC the 'Spirit" is never far away. 'Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit. Galatians 5 vs 25.

Look what YF did!!!! Wed 9th Aug

YF had great fun on a warm dry Sunday evening when they created graffiti banners for the outside of the St Andrew hall. Many passers by have been observed 'taking a second look'. The images are striking and vibrant. Just how we want Church to be.

Teddies for Tragedies   See: Teddies for Tragedies   Fri 2nd Jun

This year’s teddies are ready to begin their journey.  They will be following over 6,000 teddies and other knitted items previously sent from QPC.  The teddies will soon find new owners among children who desperately need love and belonging.  Come along to join us as we cheer and bless them on their way at the services on Sunday 20th August  More info: clairbear_tft@yahoo.co.uk.

QPC is pleased to welcome the Ballinger Family, a renowned Bluegrass band, accompanied by world class banjo/mandolin player, Matt Flinner.  They will be performing here at QPC on Tuesday 26 September at 7.30pm.  More details to follow but please put that date in your diaries.

Sunday's @10

A crèche facility for children aged 3 and under is available during the 10 a.m all-age service, from approx 10.15. Older children are encouraged to join our Sundays@10 activities . Parents/carers may leave their children, stay with them or come and go as preferred.

The Pastoral Assistants are part of our Church's Pastoral Care Team, supporting the ministers by visiting those at home or in hospital in need of support. If you know someone who would like a visit please contact the church office(0131 331 1100) or individual Parish Assistants. The flowers from church are delivered each week to those who have been bereaved, are ill or are having a special celebration. If you know of anyone for whom these would be appropriate, please contact one of the Pastoral Assistants or Esther.
